VolkerStevin supports the emergency services at the River Medway

The project’s aim is to enhance the natural, historic, and built environment and provide safe access all year round to the lock site as well as protect the community from the risk of flooding from the River Medway.

When the River Medway is flowing high, emergency services in Kent including fire and rescue teams and the police, come to Teston for training in the river. By working closely with our site team they are able to carry out their training and have safe access to the river. 

These sessions help emergency teams make the most of the site’s facilities, increasing their readiness should their services be needed in a real emergency. This valuable partnership helps to strengthen community resilience and enhance public safety.
