Our team working on the Kendal Flood Risk Management team recently joined forces with Kendal primary school children to discuss the importance and benefits of bug houses.
With plenty of enthusiasm, they got hands-on collecting natural materials and helping the team fill the houses to make them welcoming homes for insects.
To make it even more fun, the classes held a naming competition for their creations and the results were brilliant! Winning names included Bugingham Palace, Premier Inn-sect, Wing-sor Castle and Air Bee & Bee
Plaques featuring the winning names will soon be placed alongside the bug houses at Beezon Field, ready for the grand opening of the completion of this phase of work. We can’t wait for the community to see the fantastic work these young nature champions have done!
