Preston & South Ribble Flood Risk Management Scheme celebrates outstanding CCS audit score
The Preston & South Ribble Flood Risk Management Scheme (FRMS) team has set a new benchmark for excellence, achieving an exceptional 47/45 in their latest Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) audit.
This remarkable score includes two bonus points awarded for outstanding innovation, an achievement that highlights both the team’s ingenuity and their commitment to best practice.
Construction of the Preston & South Ribble Flood Risk Management Scheme began in 2022 and, when complete, thousands of properties will be better protected from flooding between Broadgate in Preston and Walton-le-Dale.
The CCS audit awarded the project the maximum 15 marks in each of the three key areas: respect the community, care for the environment and value their workforce.
The two bonus points were awarded for innovations that go beyond standard practice:
- Tractivity CRM tool – a cutting-edge stakeholder management system that replaces spreadsheets, integrates communications and streamlines reporting. By consolidating all stakeholder engagement tools into one platform, the team has enhanced efficiency and transparency.
- Concrete artist collaboration – engaging a specialist artist to create flood wall sections that connect seamlessly with listed and scheduled monuments. This creative approach ensures that vital flood defences also respect and enhance the area’s cultural heritage.
The audit report commended the scheme’s professionalism and attention to detail:
“The site presented a positive and professional impression, reflecting a high standard of organisation and care. It was clean, well-managed, and clearly maintained with attention to detail. Site accommodation and parking arrangements were both suitable and sufficient, contributing to an overall sense of order and efficiency.”
It further noted:
“The company continues to uphold the high standards observed during previous visits, demonstrating a consistent commitment to best practice and site presentation. This ongoing performance is commendable and reflects well on the team’s dedication.”
Congratulations to the Preston and South Ribble FRMS team, this is an excellent achievement!
