C2V helps raise over £14,000 for St John’s Hospice in Lancaster

Our C2V team working on the Lancaster Wastewater Treatment Works, alongside United Utilities and its partners, have raised over £14,000 for St John’s Hospice in Lancaster.

People donating a giant check.

Over 100 people took part in a guided Cross Bay Walk, from Arnside to Grange-over-Sands, to raise money for the hospice which provides palliative care to patients with life shortening conditions.

Most of those who took part are working on projects across Lancashire and Cumbria, supporting delivery of United Utilities’ £13 billion investment programme in the region. With projects under way in the area, the group organised the walk to raise funds for the charity which is used by local families.

“A simple idea brought United Utilities and partner staff together for a great local cause. We’re delighted to have raised over £14,000 for St John’s Hospice - thank you to everyone who donated.”

“We’re delivering projects around Morecambe Bay, so it felt right to do something extra for people in the area. I’m proud of our team and supporters for turning out in such numbers and helping to raise vital funds for a great cause.”

The route was led by the Guide Over Sands Trust and set on the day by the King’s Guide to the Sands – a royally appointed guide to crossing the sands of Morecambe Bay. The bay is the UK’s largest expanse of intertidal sands and mudflats and has a long history of guided crossings.
