John Cox

Position: Managing Director 

John joined the business in 2021, having previously been managing director of VolkerFitzpatrick’s rail and infrastructure division since 2014. Prior to this, John worked for VolkerRail as projects director from 2012-2014. John graduated as a civil engineer from Queen’s University, Belfast in 1987. Having previously worked for Laing O'Rourke for ten years, John, a chartered member of the Institution of Civil Engineers has a wealth of experience on a number of complex and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in marine, rail, energy, utilities and airports.

Jonathan Suckling

Position: Commercial Director

Jonathan has been with VolkerStevin since September 2020, having been with the VolkerWessels group since 1997. This included eight years as a Board Director for VolkerFitzpatrick, and more recently working for the parent company, Royal VolkerWessels in the Netherlands. 

Jonathan is a chartered member of the RICS, with over 25 years’ experience within the construction industry. He has worked on a number of complex and multidisciplinary projects across the infrastructure sector, including leading roles in major joint ventures and frameworks.

Working together collaboratively is at the heart of any successful project or business. Jonathan is a strong advocate of driving the right behaviours and relationships, to enable effective communication between project teams, clients and the supply chain, to deliver projects with certainty and pride.

Nicola O’Keeffe

Position: Finance Director

Nicola is a commercially focused financial director and a chartered accountant with extensive knowledge and experience of leading and transforming finance teams. She is an inspirational leader with experience in transformational change, system implementations, business improvement and mergers and acquisitions.  

She began her career with Ernst & Young after securing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Modern Languages and Accounting. Since then she has gained over 25 years of experience in financial management at major engineering companies operating across Europe in the nuclear, energy, oil, gas and civil engineering sectors.  

Nicola is an honorary treasurer for the Nuclear Institute, responsible for financial review, governance and oversight.

Eddie Tattersall

Position: Business Development Director

Eddie joined VolkerStevin in January 2012 as business development director. As a civil engineer with over 30 years' experience in the sector, he began his career in an operational capacity working throughout the UK but since 2000, has focussed entirely on business development and work winning.

As well as VolkerStevin, Eddie has held previous successful business development roles for other major contractors with responsibility for securing new business, key account management and customer satisfaction across a wide range of markets.

Eddie is an enthusiastic and results driven individual who is committed to providing the highest level of service through developing and maintaining trusted customer relationships.
