VolkerStevin shortlisted for two Construction News Awards

VolkerStevin is proud to announce that our Keel Crossing project has been shortlisted in two categories at this year’s Construction News Awards.

Celebrating its 30th year, the awards recognise the projects, innovations, and people setting the benchmark for excellence across the construction industry. We are delighted that Keel Crossing has been shortlisted for Project of the Year (£20m–£50m) and Community Engagement Project of the Year.

After a temporary opening for the Women’s Rugby World Cup kick-off match, the bridge permanently opened in October last year. VolkerStevin delivered this project for Sunderland City Council as part of the £600 million Riverside Sunderland regeneration programme; the structure not only connects communities but also reflects Sunderland’s rich maritime heritage. It has been a landmark project for the city and for VolkerStevin.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 9 July. Good luck to our Keel Crossing team!
