VolkerStevin partnership with Rainbow Trust reaches £100,000 milestone
VolkerStevin is proud to announce that our partnership with Rainbow Trust Children's Charity has surpassed the £100,000 fundraising milestone, helping to make a meaningful difference to families facing some of the toughest challenges imaginable.
Since the start of our partnership in March 2025, colleagues across the business have come together to support Rainbow Trust through a variety of fundraising initiatives, events and activities. As of August 2025, the partnership has raised over £100,000, demonstrating the incredible commitment and generosity of our people.
This remarkable achievement is enough to fund a Rainbow Trust Family Support Worker for two years, enabling specialist support for up to 25 families at any one time. Family Support Workers provide practical and emotional support to families caring for a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness, helping them navigate the challenges they face every day.
The success of the partnership reflects VolkerStevin’s commitment to creating positive social impact and supporting communities beyond the projects we deliver.
We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this achievement and helped us reach this significant milestone. Together, we are helping Rainbow Trust continue its vital work and ensuring more families receive the support they need when they need it most.
Rainbow Trust family story
Emily has a neurological disorder. She lives in constant pain and is cared for by her mother, Laura. Laura and Ben, Emily’s father, have two other children: Oliver, and Caitlin.
Diagnosed with demyelinating neuropathy aged five, Emily reached her milestones only to lose them again. Emily suffers from inoperable scoliosis, if she were to catch a simple cold, she would need to be ventilated.
The whole family feels isolated and Rainbow Trust Family Support Worker Michelle has made a huge difference. Michelle has been supporting the family since June 2022. Michelle collects the children from school, takes them to the park, to soft play, to play football, athletics and to meet other children with a seriously ill brother or sister. With no central government funding, Rainbow Trust relies on the support of organisations like VolkerStevin to help make a meaningful and lasting difference to seriously ill children and families who are struggling alone.
