VolkerGround Engineering at Southsea Coastal Defence Scheme
VolkerGround Engineering, our piling specialists, are continuing to support VolkerStevin with the development of the new sea defences in Southsea, Portsmouth.
The VolkerGround Engineering team has been back on site, with its 23 tonne excavator which is fitted with an SG50 Movax attachment. In the team’s latest visit, they installed 50 meters of AZ12-770 steel sheet piles, in lengths of up to 2.5 metres into the built up soils above the existing beach. These works will enable the completion of the promenade in this section at Southsea Castle, which is due to open later this year.
