The tertiary solids removal skid and vessels have been placed into position and the tertiary solid removal clean backwash tank has also been installed and tested. The team has installed pumps and pipework to the mixed liquors suspended solids slab, along with the steelwork walkways to the new activated sludge process. The activated sludge process blower pipework installation has commenced and scraper bridges have been installed to two new final settlement tanks (FST’s).

The team are also making progress with the electrical work, with the low voltage and switchboard kiosks and motor control centres built and ready to be delivered later this month. The tertiary solid removal motor control centre is ready to be delivered and the activated sludge process and tertiary kiosks are currently being manufactured. The main design for on-site electrical install works is underway and the FST scraper bridge control panel has been manufactured and factory tested.

Over the coming months the team will begin work on extending the existing inlet channel, they will also be building new structures that are within the inlet area, this will include a dirty backwash tank and primary settlement tank distribution chamber. The team will continue the below ground process pipework and will start the construction of the main cable duct and pit runs.

Testing and commissioning of the new equipment is due to start in May, with process commissioning commencing in June.
