VolkerStevin supports Oak Lea Trust with community donation

The team working on the Appleby Flood Risk Management Scheme has donated £1,500 to the Oak Lea Trust to support activities at their Appleby hub, located next to our works site. In addition, £250 worth of plants and flowers were donated to help enhance the outdoor space at the hub, creating an even more welcoming environment for visitors.

The funding has helped support the hub’s Walk & Talk sessions, delivered in partnership with Carlisle and Eden Mind, as well as a support group for parents and carers of children with special educational needs.

The Appleby hub shared the following feedback:

“The kind donation from VolkerStevin and the Environment Agency helped fund our Walk & Talk sessions in conjunction with Carlisle and Eden Mind, as well as our support group for parents and carers of children with special educational needs. These sessions are much needed within Appleby and the surrounding areas. They were initially launched with funding from Natural England and are now supported by The National Lottery Community Fund.

"We’re proud to support the communities where we deliver our work. Initiatives like this demonstrate our commitment to creating lasting social value and ensuring we leave a positive impact that extends beyond the completion of our projects."
