VolkerStevin raises money for Grassroots Suicide Prevention

In memory of a valued colleague, our VolkerStevin South East teams, along with our Collaborative Delivery Framework partners, supply chain members, and client representatives, came together to raise funds for a truly meaningful cause.

The group took part in a 48 mile walk from Rye to Pevensey and back, all in one working shift, to raise money for Grassroots Suicide Prevention. The charity, based in Brighton, is local to projects VolkerStevin is currently delivering for the Environment Agency (Pevensey Star Inn Gates and Rother Tidal Walls – East) and by selecting a local charity the team hope to make a greater impact on local families.

“This wasn’t just a physical challenge or a fundraising triumph – it was a meaningful way to honour a colleague. For me, the event captured what truly matters: coming together, supporting one another, and looking out for each other. The success of the day came from everyone pulling together, it was a true team effort and that’s what made it so powerful.”

Matthew Alcock Senior Project Manager

Through their efforts, the team has managed to raise an incredible £4,800 for Grassroots Suicide Prevention.
