Great progress made at Phase 1B of the Rochdale and Littleborough FRMS
Over the past 12 months, our team has made significant progress on Phase 1B of the Rochdale and Littleborough Flood Risk Management Scheme (FRMS), delivered on behalf of the Environment Agency.
A key focus throughout 2024 has been the construction of a 100-metre-long cofferdam, reaching depths of between four and six metres. This milestone involved extensive piling work and marks a major step forward for the scheme.
The team has now begun earthworks on site, they will be bringing over 60,000m3 of imported materials to site, which will be used to construct a new embankment to form part of the impoundment reservoir.
Watch the video below as James Melody, Project Manager, reflects on the team’s achievements in 2024 and looks ahead to what's planned for 2025.
