VolkerGround Engineering at Tarrant Wharf Arundel
VolkerGround Engineering, our piling specialists, has recently supported VolkerStevin in West Sussex, installing 33 steel sheet pile crimped pairs at Tarrant Wharf Arundel, to form the new river wall on the River Arun.
Utilising a PVE 18VM Vibro and SL30 impact hammer, fitted with acoustic blankets to limit the noise to nearby residential properties, the team worked from a jack up barge to install a new 46.2 metre steel sheet piled wall. The wall was installed in front of the historic failing masonry wall, using conventional methods.
This wall will be anchored in the final condition, these will be formed at a later date.
