University of Central Lancashire Preston visit
VolkerStevin recently had the pleasure of welcoming 20 students from the University of Central Lancashire to the Preston and South Ribble Flood Risk Management Scheme. The students, who are studying civil engineering, are in their final year, and were keen to learn more about engineering flood defences, as well as what a typical day within the industry looks like.
Whilst on site, the students were given an overview of the scheme, a tour around site and had the opportunity to put questions to our project team. As many of the students live close to the scheme they were keen to learn more about our works and how this has impacted the area. We hope the students found their visit informative and beneficial, and gained some valuable insights into the engineering industry.
