The Southsea Coastal Scheme’s ‘cuppa and a catch up’

Recent

The site team working on the Southsea Coastal Scheme recently took some time to have a ‘cuppa and a catch up’, as part of the Samaritans Brew Monday event.

Brew Monday is held on the third Monday of January, as this is often referred to as ‘the most difficult day of the year’. The Samaritan’s aim is to dispel the myth of ‘Blue Monday’ as we all have our good and bad days. Brew Monday encourages people to start a conversation over a brew, to reach out and connect with family, friends, colleagues and loved ones.

The site team discussed Seasonal Affective Disorder, how to spot the signs of mental ill health, understanding stress and what makes us happy. They were also reminded about the support available to them through project Mental Health First Aiders, VolkerStevin’s Employee Assistance Programme and the Construction Industry Helpline app.
