Southsea Coastal Scheme welcome Mayor of Maizuru

Recent

The team working on the Southsea Coastal Scheme recently welcomed the Mayor of Maizuru to their site offices. Maizuru, a city in Japan, is one of the sister cities of Portsmouth. The link between the cities was established in 1998, to support an increase in Japanese tourism and economic development between the two cities, as they both shared historical military links.

After a greeting and tour of the team’s office space, the Mayor and his delegation enjoyed a presentation delivered by a coastal engineer working on the scheme. The presentation covered all the works which have been completed at Long Curtain Moat and the ongoing work around Southsea Castle.

The group were very passionate and interested in the project and praised the team highly for their work so far.
