At VolkerStevin, we are passionate about the benefits a diverse workforce and inclusive culture can bring to our business. Across VolkerWessels UK we have taken positive action to attract and retain female employees.

This includes launching a ‘Women in Construction’ working group who identify and promote initiatives which help to attract and retain females in our business. Some of these initiatives include trialling the ‘EMPOWER career development programme’ designed specifically to support women take the next step in their career, enhancing our maternity, adoption and paternity leave policies and using gender decoding technology in our job adverts to detect and remove unintentional bias in the language used.

We want to inspire women to come to work with us, stay with us for their careers and support them when they need us most.

A part of International Women’s Day and Women in Construction Week we also want to take the opportunity to thank all of the remarkable women we have working for us, the positive impact they have on making our business a success, and also for helping us continue to move forward as we continue to build on our inclusive journey.
