Thanckes Oil Fuel Depot project receives ‘exceptional’ CCS audit results

Recent

Congratulations to the team at Thanckes Oil Fuel Depot (OFD), which has achieved an ‘exceptional’ score in its recent Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) audits. The Considerate Constructors Scheme seeks to improve the image of the construction industry, by striving to promote and achieve best practice under its Code of Considerate Practice.

This was the first CCS audit to be undertaken using the scheme’s new scoring and reporting system, and the team had to work hard to ensure the site complied with the five categories of the code.

The team achieved an impressive overall score of 45 out of 45, plus one point for innovation - giving a total of 46.  The Thanckes OFD scheme was deemed ‘exceptional’ overall. The CCS report highlights how the site team continues to strive to exceed its already exemplar standards, and continues to excel in all areas.

The CCS report read: “A complete site walk around revealed the highest level of cleanliness and fresh signage, all branded with the contractor’s name. Observation again revealed a very high level of order and organisation.”

It continued: “The safety regime is remarkable, with a relentless focus on improvement, and new ways to keep the workforce focused. A clean accident record in the third year of a complex project demonstrates the highest level of effort, at all levels.”

The team also scored one innovation point for its interactive injury workshop, attended by the site team, and the client and subcontractors. The workshop looked at five themes, highlighting and demonstrating the possible impact of injuries sustained both at work and at home.

The scores reflect the project’s successes, and are a testament to the hard work of the site team. Well done to all the team on achieving a fantastic score!
